Question: How to lose weight slowly?

So lately I've been eating a bit too much, snacking and eating a lot of candy. I've also gained some weight (shocking, isn't it?), I've gone from 50-ish to around 55 kilos. (11 pounds for you with a weird measuring system). I'm short, so I'm not underweight, I just feel good at that weight. What should I do to get back there? I want to lose weight slowly, since you just seem to put on weight again after a "lose 2449 pounds in two hours!"-diet.



Can I do this without going to a gym? I'm always drowning in papers, tests and homework, so I have a hard time finding the time to go and work out.
