I have the same problem. The answer is a healthy diet (as my doctors say) but, it is also in lifting a few weights. You can't gain any pounds without properly stimulating your muscles, and if you just keep eating it will only come out as fat. So in the end, the best way to go about it is to find a proper diet that works for you and incorporate some exercise into your routine.

Oh, you can easily gain POUNDS from eating alone and not lifting weights...as you know, those would be the wrong kind of pounds.
You need to increase your carb intake to around 1 gram per pound of bodyweight as well as increase your caloric intake 300 calories per day at a time to evaluate your weight gain...if those aren't enough, move up a bit more.
I hope you have seen Shaun's and my reply to your post in the weight gain thread as well...we are waiting to see your current diet and goals to help out a bit more...

Whew! So much information and everyone seems to be saying something different. I just need a way to add a few pounds the healthy way. Someone in another thread stated that if I am skinny I should not be trying to gain muscle, but should be trying to gain fat. In this thread you guys are saying the opposite.

Lol. Well YOU choose that! Do you seriously want to gain fat? Would anyone want to ever gain fat? If so, I guess go for it and only follow the wrong tips here lol. If you want muscle, increase your protein and slightly increase calories until you find the daily amount needed in order to gain lean muscle gradually without adding fat! :)
All the best,
