Uncooked oats are not very good for your digestive system, I'm assuming you use uncooked oats.

You could try soaking the oats overnight in water and an acidic medium to make the oats more digestible and break down the phytic acid (phytic acid is a mineral blocker).

When I'm bulking up, I like to add a few other ingredients to give the protein shake extra calories. I usually add milk with a banana, a spoonful of honey, and a mint to give the shake a peppermint flavor. Sometimes, I'll add a serving of creatine as well.
