Any amount of exercise is better than none. If you want to lose weight, you have to push yourself. Tired after jogging on the treadmill for 30 minutes? Try for 45. Get your heart rate up and sweat. Otherwise, you won't lose weight or get in shape. You should go for as long as you can and as fast as you can. At first you'll probably need to start out slow, since if you haven't been exercising you'll get exhausted pretty fast. So try for thirty minutes going 3.5 or 4 mph. If that's too much, decrease the speed. If it's too easy, increase the speed and go for a longer amount of time. Once it gets to be easy, kick it up a notch.
