Is Cardio too important to be ignored?

I gather that Cardio has lots of benefits ranging from Muscular Strength to improved Cardio-respiratory. I'm just worried that injuries can make doing cardio impossible. In the event that an injury prevents one from this exercise, what are his options? Can one replace Cardio with other exercises...



It would be helpful if alternatives with similar benefits as cardio are suggested...Thanks in advance!
