Just How Much Should You Weigh?

Just How Much Should You Weigh?

You want to lose weight, you want to have the body of your dreams, most importantly you want to feel good about yourself. But with all of the news magazines, celebrities, and advertisements showing us what the ideal body should look like, it's hard to figure out just where you fit in. It is very tempting to try to look like that perfect body that you see everywhere, after all that seems to be the standard of beauty, but the harsh reality is that we can't all look the same way. And once you factor in things like height, genetics, and bone structure it really makes you wonder just how much should you weigh anyway?

There is a lot of information out there about finding your ideal weight. It seems that no matter where you turn, you will find an opinion on what your ideal weight should be. Some people might tell you that a certain weight is too skinny, while others will tell you that the same weight is too large for you. The truth is that no online quiz, magazine, or advice from friends is going to give you your ideal weight. In fact, if you are looking to figure out how much you should weigh, your first step is to talk to your doctor.

Remember, your doctor knows you best. They will know your history and they will know your genetic makeup. If a certain food or diet is not going to work well for someone with your history, your doctor will be able to tell you that. If you want to start an exercise routine that might be too stressful for someone with your history, your doctor will be able to steer you towards something that you will work better for you. Your doctor is not only the one who will be able to tell you how much you should weigh, your doctor will tell you what you need to do to get to your goal weight.

But even your doctor is not the best person to tell you how much you should weigh, your body is. When you learn to listen to your body and live a healthy lifestyle your ideal weight will come to you. You might be surprised to find that your ideal weight is actually a few pounds less than what your doctor recommends, and this is okay as long as you know you are eating healthfully. To be sure that your food choices are giving you the nourishment that you need, you can have a blood workup done by your doctor's office.

So how much should you weigh? There is really no magic number. Even if you take two people with the exact same body structure and appetite, they can still have very different ideal weights. Remember, the most important thing is to make sure that you are eating healthy and getting enough nourishment. Once you do that your ideal weight will come to you.
