I've been using jumping rope for a few months and I noticed that my legs started to lose some fats. I don't intend for it to happen though; I just wanted to have a cardio workout for winter. If weather permits, I'll get back to walking, running and cycling but I'll absolutely keep on doing the jump rope and do the other techniques.
