Just read this in a news item:

There was a study made of the claims made on the labels of food products sold in the supermarkets and many products failed to actually have what their labels claimed to have. So the manufacturers are forced, by law, to remove the claims. Not the food products, though. Although this news is from Australia, there's hope that this idea will spread to other countries.

Food health claims face new scrutiny
Only thing I find lacking is this:

Three years is a very long time. I fear that everything would be forgotten before the food manufacturers comply with the new regulations. I wonder whether there is any more effective way of making sure that misleading claims are not put on food products.
Do you know?
