Not sure if this is the right place to put this so I apologize if it is not. I do have some concerns about my pulse rate. I started giving plasma recently and the first two times I was fine and had absolutely no problems with my vitals. However, I tryed going last Friday to be told I couldn't donate because my pulse rate was too high. She said it was 111. I sat for 10 minutes and my pulse was taken again. It went down to 103 but was still too high. I then thought it must be because I had drank coffee that morning since this was the only thing that changed from the previous time I went to give plasma. So, I went back a couple days later to try again. I avoided caffiene and stress. This time my pulse was even higher. It was up to 120. Went down to 108, again still being too high to donate. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't donate either of these times but now I am starting to worry that I may always have a high pulse and that it could start to effect my health. I know the normal range is between 50-100 or something around there. What can I do to lower my pulse other then avoiding caffiene, stress and smoking? (I've never smoked cigarettes). Should I see an actual doctor? I do plan on getting a heart rate/pulse rate monitor soon but can't afford that right now.
