Any tips for getting back in shape after pregnancy?

I was in very good shape pre-pregnancy but found I couldn't do hardly any exercise whilst pregnant with back pain and getting seriously out of breath, but now I have my body to myself again I would like to get back into shape. Does any one have any tips or experience for me? The worst bit is my compete lack of core strength now, was messing around doing some 'gymnastics' the other day and the lack of control I had over my body compared to what I had was scary!!
