Magnesium Carbonate, 4oz Gloves, and Sledgehammers

I have a lot that I keep on another forum, but I figure posting it here might help me learn some more and might help others learn from me.

Stats:

5'9"

Weight: 220

PRs:

DL: 545lbs, with crappy form and just shy of locked out, but it's still my measuring point

ZDL: 375lbs

Back Squat: 405lbs

Z Squat: 405lbs

Bench: 305lbs

SOHP: 185lbs x3

PP/Jerk: 245lbs

Most of my PRs were set before getting married in Aug 2010 and not regularly lifting for a year and a half or so. I did set my back squat PR after Thanksgiving, and the rest of my numbers are getting close to my previous bests, so I should be setting new PRs in everything before long.

My routine is currently Jim Wendler's original 531 on a 2 day split, (1: deadlift, ohp, pull-ups; 2: squat, bench, DB bors) with upper body push/pull supersetted as a time saver. I do Zercher deadlift instead of conventional deadlift because I don't have enough plates. :) I'm currently in a bulking phase until my wife gives birth to our son (end of April), so I have added some hypertrophy assistance after my work sets. This is accomplished with 20 rep squats after my normal work sets, adding 5lbs each session, followed by push press or ring push-ups until just shy of outright failure. Once the kid gets here, I'll work on dieting back down. Figure both my gaining now and my losing then will be helpful to my wife.

I also try to to get some more bag work and treadmill work in, either after my lifting or on a separate day, to help recovery, overall cardio/conditioning, and general health. Aside from bagwork and shadowboxing, martial arts ambitions are on hold for the foreseeable future, aside from trying to get some sparring in occasionally. This is due to budget, time, and expecting the little one.
