In 2008 I decided I was fed up with being so overweight. After the new year I set it in my mind that I had to walk on the treadmill as much as possible, and I had to change my way of eating. I went from not moving much all day to walking on the treadmill every day (except the weekends) for an hour. I drank solely water, completely cut out all other beverages (except for alcohol/beer on weekends). I ate drastically different:
granola bars
hamburgers cooked on the George Foreman (no bread)
small quesadilla's filled with low fat cheese, chopped tomato and grilled chicken
grilled chicken salads with light Italian dressing
yogurt
That was basically all I ate at home. If I went through the drive thru at McDonald's I would have 1 cheeseburger and a parfait. At Taco Bell would pick 2 items off the drive thru diet menu. At Wendy's I would get chili and a plain baked potato.
Within 5 months I had lost 70 pounds!
I felt incredible, looked incredible, and had the attention from men I had never received prior.
Around a year later I met and fell in love with my current boyfriend and I have since put all the weight back on.
I am finding it much harder this time to get motivated.
I have been dieting for a month though and have lost 15 pounds. I just can't get myself to get back on the treadmill. I keep putting it off. I know once I do the weight will come off much quicker. I am hoping after Valentine's Day I can stop making excuses and just do it.
I have 55 more pounds to go! :]
